The Fax-Blast Program
In addition to this website, faxes are used to keep members informed about Association business and events. In particular, the technical event newsletter "News in Brief" is sent to representatives exclusively by fax. Most faxes are sent only to Primary Representatives, and to selected Associate Representatives who work at addresses different from the Primary Rep.

Corporate member fax information is updated monthly - if you have changes, please contact the Membership Director at membership@cgpsa.com or at the telephone number listed at the Board of Directors page.

E-Mail
For the last three years, e-mail addresses have been solicited on the membership renewal invoices sent out. We believe e-mailing program and general  information to our Reps will be a practical alternative or supplement to our current Fax-Blasts. However, to date, not many Association Representatives have supplied their address. If you are not sure whether we have your e-mail address, please forward an e-mail to membership@cgpsa.com. We will extract your address and add it to our directory. We are conducting member business primarily by email in 2004.

Book Sales
The CGPSA exclusively offers its corporate member staff as well as members of the CGPA printed and CD-ROM copies of the metric and imperial GPA Databooks at approximately one-half the retail values. Other publications of the GPA and GPSA are also available by special order. These include Technical Standards Manuals, Plant Operations Test Manuals, Corrosion Detection Reports, and various Survey and Research Reports.

Additional information, and information about special publications, can be obtained from the Education and Research Director. at publications@cgpsa.com or at the telephone number listed at the Board of Directors page.

To place a book order, if you are an employee of a CGPSA corporate member or a member of the CGPA, please contact Noreen at Northern Star Publications, at nstar@northernstar.ab.ca or telephone (403) 263-6881.
If you are not,
please contact your local technical bookseller for these publications (in Calgary, contact Evelyn DeMille Technical Books).

Databook Ordering:

Printed databooks are available in Imperial or SI units, and each can be ordered with the corresponding CD-ROM.

  • CD-ROM's can NOT be purchased without the purchase of the companion databook - you must either purchase the associated databook with it, or be in possession of the latest printed version.

  • Both the printed version and the CD-ROM must be of the same type (i.e. either Imperial or SI) - you cannot order a CD-ROM SI version if your printed version is Imperial, and vice versa.

  • Sale of CD-ROM's is only available to CGPA members and CGPSA member companies / representatives.

Requests for CD-ROM's are subject to verification that these above conditions are met! The following are member prices, and are approximately one-half the retail value!

  • Imperial Databook - $85.00 plus GST (7%); w/ CD-ROM - $125.00 plus GST

  • SI Databook - $85.00 plus GST (7%); w/ CD-ROM - $125.00 plus GST

  • CD-ROM (either version) - $45.00 plus GST (7%)

Cost of shipping of one book/CD-ROM  orders by mail in Canada is included in the cost of the databook. Shipping and handling charges apply for orders of more than one book, and for any special shipping or handling required.

Technical Papers

The CGPA maintains a copy of all papers presented at sponsored conferences, seminars and technical meetings. Papers are available for a modest cost from the library at the Petroleum Industry Training Service (WWW.PITS.CA). Some delays may be experienced retrieving papers from 1996 to the present - we are currently updating the archives. For further information, please contact the Education and Research Director at education@cgpsa.com or at the telephone number listed at the board of Directors page.

Pocket DataBooks
As part of membership, a CGPSA pocket DataBook was sent to all member representatives on file as of the end of 2001. If you did not receive this publication, or you desire extra copies, please contact the Promotion Director at promotion@cgpsa.com, or see the Board of Directors list for additional Promotion Director contact information.
