Notice:
CGPSA Member Representative information collected by any means at this website will be used by the CGPSA solely for the purpose of managing and executing CGPSA activities.  A Representative submitting personal information to the CGPSA using this website agrees that this information can be used for this purpose, and that the CGPSA may distribute this information to companies and individuals engaged by the CGPSA for management and execution of its activities. Address any Privacy of Information inquiries to the PRESIDENT@CGPSA.COM .

Joining the CGPSA

CGPSA memberships are corporate, and are limited to companies engaged in the supply of equipment or services to the Canadian petroleum industry (G.A.S. members - see below).

Please note that persons who are not recognized CGPSA  Representatives of Corporate member companies may be excluded from Association activities, or may be required to pay higher non-member prices. Membership benefits also include the ability to purchase GPSA databooks at approximately one-half the retail value!

Application for membership should be made by a member of the prospective company's management. The applicant nominates an employee/member to act as the company's Primary Representative (included in the corporate membership dues). If the company has a Canadian office, the Primary Representative may vote on behalf of his/her company in Association affairs. Other employees of the Corporate Member and subsidiary/affiliated companies are eligible to apply for Associate (None-Voting) Representative status. The CGPSA membership year is from July 01 to June 30.

  • If your company wishes to join, simply complete an "Application for Corporate Membership" form here at the website and return it as per instructions on the form. If practical, the parent company of multi-company organizations should apply for corporate membership (subsidiaries are automatically included in the membership).

  • To add an Associate to your company membership, complete an ‘Application for Associate Membership’ form form here at the website and return it as per instructions on the form. Be sure your company is a Corporate Member before sending an application for Associate - if it isn't, we can't process your application and IT WILL BE REJECTED! If necessary, visit the on-line Member Directory or contact the Membership Director to verify company status.

  • By Special Resolution, the Gas Alumni Society (G.A.S.) is a permanent corporate member of the CGPSA. The President of the Gas Alumni Society is considered to be its Primary [Voting] Representative, and general members of G.A.S. are considered to be eligible to become Associate Representatives of the CGPSA. To join as a member of G.A.S., complete an 'G.A.S Application for CGPSA Associate Membership'  form here at the website and return it as per instructions on the form.

When sending us an application, it is very important that the correct CGPSA address be used (the address is printed on each application form).

Joining the Gas Alumni Society (G.A.S.)

To be eligible for membership in G.A.S., an individual must have held membership in the CGPA or CGPSA; be at least 50 years old, or with 20 years related gas/petroleum industry experience; and, be retired (no longer employed full time). Please note the following:

  • If an individual was either self-employed, or employed part time in the industry, previous membership in either the CGPA or CGPSA is still required

  • Past presidents of both organizations are automatically eligible for G.A.S. membership and do not have to satisfy the age or experience criteria. However, they do have to confirm their wish to be included in the G.A.S. membership roster

  • There is no charge for membership in G.A.S.

To become a member of G.A.S., please contact the President of G.A.S. using the contact information given on the Board of Directors page.

If you have any membership questions, please contact the Membership Director by e-mail at membership@cgpsa.com, or see the Board of Directors list for additional Membership Director contact information. Applications received and accepted after March 1 of each year entitle the applicant to membership until June 30 of the following year. All memberships must be accepted by the CGPSA in accordance with Association bylaws - applicants will be notified of successful applications by mail.

Membership Renewals, Changes and
Information Updates

The Association membership year is from July 01 to June 30, and renewal invoices are sent out in April or May of each year. It is very important that the correct CGPSA address be used when returning an invoice (this return address is printed on the invoice), and that corporate information on the invoice is correct (please change it if necessary).

If you are currently a CGPSA Representative and change employment (companies), your representative status does NOT follow you. To maintain this status, you need to determine if your new employing company is a CGPSA member. If so, you need to be added as an Associate by completing a new application at this website (see "Joining the CGPSA" above). If not, you and your new company need to sign up using the application form at this website (see "Joining the CGPSA" above). Also, please advise the Primary Rep at the company you are leaving of the need for him/her to fill the vacancy you are creating, and to notify the Membership Chairman at membership@cgpsa.com of this change.

If you need to change your current membership information during the year, or if you need additional information, please contact the Membership Director by e-mail at membership@cgpsa.com, or see the Board of Directors list for additional Membership Director contact information.

Mislaid Your Membership Plaque?

As part of membership, a CGPSA plaque is sent to each new corporate member after sign-up, and year tags are sent for each year the membership is renewed. Replacement plaques are available at a cost of $37.45 (includes GST) on request to us at membership@cgpsa.com.

Received Your Free Pocket DataBook?

As part of membership, a CGPSA pocket DataBook was sent to all member representatives on file as of the end of 2001. If you did not receive this publication, or you desire extra copies, please contact the Promotion Director at promotion@cgpsa.com, or see the Board of Directors list for additional Promotion Director contact information.
